Project Overview
Hebbal Junction stands as one of Bengaluru’s most critical traffic convergence points, where NH-7, Outer Ring Road, and airport connectivity routes intersect. The grade separator project addressed this bottleneck through an innovative multi-level design.
The Challenge
Problem: Hebbal Junction experienced severe congestion with 50,000+ vehicles daily converging from four major routes. Traffic delays during peak hours exceeded 45 minutes, impacting airport connectivity and North Bengaluru mobility.
Complexity: A complex multi-directional junction required solution design, execution during heavy traffic conditions, and maintaining four-directional traffic throughout construction.
Scope of Work
Flyover & Underpass
Multi-level grade separation design
Traffic Loops
Multiple directional change ramps
Drainage Systems
Integrated water management infrastructure
Landscaping
Green spaces and urban furniture
Solution & Execution
PJB Engineers designed a three-level grade separation strategy combining flyovers, underpasses, and traffic loops to handle all directional movements without conflict. The execution maintained continuous traffic flow through phased construction.
Project Outcomes & Impact
Reduced Delays, Better Connectivity
The grade separator reduced peak-hour delays by 60% while improving airport connectivity and strengthening North Bengaluru’s transportation infrastructure.
Key Benefits Delivered
