Community Initiatives

Real projects delivered at PJB's own cost for the communities we serve

Road & Access Vengoor, Kerala

Farm Road Construction — Vengoor

PJB collaborated with local authorities to construct a 300-metre farm road in paddy field areas of Vengoor, Kerala. The road was built with dry rubble masonry, PCC sidewalls, and RCC culverts — providing reliable all-weather access to farming communities previously cut off during monsoon seasons. The entire project was completed within one month, at full PJB expense.

Road Development Anneshwara Village, Karnataka • 2021

Road Development — Anneshwara Village

In 2021, PJB funded a 1.2 km road initiative in Anneshwara Village on the outskirts of Bangalore. The project included 600 metres of cement concrete road construction, transforming access for rural residents who previously had no direct connection to the main transportation network. This initiative was fully funded and delivered by PJB Engineers.

Healthcare • COVID-19 Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru

COV-AID: COVID-19 Oxygen Facility

During the COVID-19 pandemic, PJB Engineers contributed to the COV-AID initiative at Kempegowda International Airport by establishing a temporary 150-bed oxygen facility. The facility was equipped with 95 units of 10 LPM and 55 units of 5 LPM oxygen concentrators, providing critical respiratory support to patients at a time when hospital infrastructure was overwhelmed across Karnataka.

Disaster Relief Nedumbassery, Kerala • Completed 2020

Flood Relief Housing — Nedumbassery

Following the devastating 2018 Kerala floods, PJB Engineers constructed two homes for displaced families near Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery. The project, valued at approximately ₹38 lakhs, was fully funded by PJB and completed and handed over to the families in 2020. The homes were built to a high standard, providing permanent, safe shelter to communities that lost everything in the floods.

Public Health Rural Villages, India

Mobile Vaccination Campaign — Christian Medical College

In partnership with Christian Medical College, PJB contributed to the deployment of mobile vaccination vans to reach underserved rural communities. The outreach program enabled medical teams to vaccinate over 150 individuals per day in remote villages that lacked access to fixed healthcare facilities, playing a vital role in extending immunization coverage beyond urban centres.

Part of a Broader Commitment

Our community work is one dimension of PJB's wider Environmental, Social & Governance framework
